After working on several domestic and international projects at TANGE, I was assigned to Singapore for about two years starting in 2006, where I gained valuable experience coordinating between the Tokyo design team, clients, and local consultants. Through dialogue with clients both in Japan and overseas, I came to understand—firsthand—the differences in culture and business practices, and to sense more clearly what was truly being asked of us.

Drawing on the communication skills I developed through these experiences, I want to help connect clients and TANGE, and ensure that TANGE itself continues to bridge architecture and the city seamlessly. Having been directly involved in design, I also understand the reliable services, design excellence, broad network, and diverse team that make TANGE distinctive. I see it as my responsibility to convey these strengths fully to our clients and collaborators, and to support the realization of architecture that genuinely belongs in its place.

私はTANGEでいくつかの日本国内プロジェクトや海外プロジェクトに携わった後、2006年から約2年間シンガポールに赴任し、東京のデザインチームとクライアント、現地コンサルタントとのコーディネーションを経験しました。国内および海外でのクライアントとの対話を通じ、文化の違い・ビジネスの違いに触れることで、何を求められているのかを肌で感じ取ることができるようになりました。様々な体験を通して得たコミュニケーション能力を発揮し、これからはクライアントとTANGEを、そしてTANGEが建築や都市をシームレスにつなぐ役割を果たせるようにしていきたいと思っています。また、以前設計に携わってきた経験があるからこそわかるTANGEの信頼できるサービス、デザイン力、ネットワークの広さ、そして多彩なスタッフ、それぞれをあますことなくクライアントや協力者に伝え、「そこにあるべき建築」実現のサポートをしていくことが私の責務だと考えています。

I believe that “architecture is a multidimensional expression of creativity.” It is the result of an architect—someone who brings together both artistic vision and technological skill—transforming ideas into clear, communicable designs, and shaping them into well-defined programs that set the foundation for what is to come. In my view, architecture requires an endless flow of thought.

Currently, my main role is to connect the design team with clients and partner companies, rather than handling the design of individual projects. Still, I will never forget the deep sense of fulfillment that one experiences by thinking through ideas until one is truly satisfied. I see TANGE as an organization where everyone involved in a project—regardless of age or tenure—stimulates and pushes one another in creating well-thought-out designs. This culture makes it possible to create architecture that brings entirely new value to cities and their users.

I believe that TANGE continues to present “architecture that belongs in its place” to society precisely because the entire organization is constantly engaged in critical thinking. I am proud to be part of such a team, and look forward to connecting this inspiring TANGE with more clients and communities around the world.

私は「建築は、創造のつまった多次元の集合体」だと考えています。「Architect（Art＋Technology双方の能力を持ったもの）がDesign（Do＋Sign誰もがわかるようにサイン化）し、Program（Pre+Gram 先に書く）されたもの」がArchitecture（建築）。そして建築のために欠かせないのが、絶え間ない思考だと思っています。現在はデザインチームとクライアントや協力会社などをつなぐことが私の主な役割であり、個別Projectの設計担当ではありませんが、納得できるまで考えることで得られた幸福感はいまも忘れることはできないのです。設計を担当するプロジェクトに携わるメンバーすべてが、年齢とか社歴といった枠を超えて、考え抜かれたデザインで競い合う組織。それにより、都市や使う人にいままでにない価値を与える建築を創造することが可能になります。TANGEが、「そこにあるべき建築」を社会に向け発信し続けているのは、組織全体が常に思考を続けているからだと考えます。そうしたチームと共に建築にかかわっていけることを誇らしく思いますし、この魅力的なTANGEとより多くの世界、クライアントをつないでいきたいと思います。
